Less than one week after Alabama gymnastics head coach Dana Duckworth stepped down from her position, Alabama has named her successor.
On Monday evening the program named former Alabama gymnast and Auburn associate head coach Ashley Preiss-Johnson as the new head coach of the Crimson Tide.
Preiss-Johnson was a 10 time All-American, as well as a two-time SEC and National Champion as a member of Alabama gymnastics.
Preiss-Johnson has been an assistant coach on Auburn’s gymnastics team for the last four years, helping the Tigers place fourth nationally last year, their highest finish in program history.
In 2019, she was named NCAA Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year.
She will be formally introduced at a news conference Friday in Tuscaloosa.
