TUSCALOOSA, Ala- Alabama foster care organization SAFY of Alabama is in need of foster care parents.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Alabama foster care system has seen a decrease in foster parents.

Currently, there are more than 5,000 children in Alabama foster care while there are around 1,800 foster parents. This leaves more than 3,000 children in need of a foster parent and home in the state of Alabama.

“If you have space in your heart and your home for a child, at least give us a chance to see if you could give a child a second chance at having a family,” said Daniel Mose, SAFY of Alabama recruiter.

SAFY is looking for foster parents who are prepared for temporary assignments because their main goal is reuniting children with their biological families.

If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a foster parent, you can visit their website at https://www.safy.org/.
