Alabama Erupts for 59 Points in Blowout Win vs New Mexico State

The Alabama Crimson Tide dismantled the New Mexico State Aggies 59-3 on Saturday.
Before the game kicked off, the Tide knew that they would need to dominate after last week’s scarily-close win against rival LSU.
In that game, Alabama only had 20 points. The unranked Tigers were able to expose UA’s offense all game long.
However, things went differently this week.
Quarterback Bryce Young threw for 270 yards and five touchdowns. Running backs Brian Robinson Jr. and Trey Sanders combined for 165 yards and three touchdowns.
Wide receiver Jameson Williams finished with 158 yards and three touchdowns. Tight ends Cameron Latu and Jahleel Billingsley each contributed a touchdown as well.
Young was taken out of the game with seven minutes left in the third quarter because it was getting so out-of-hand. Paul Tyson came in for him and played until the fourth quarter, when he was taken out for Jalen Milroe. Braxton Barker would then sub in for Milroe and played the final four minutes.
However, this game wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Roydell Williams and JoJo Earle each had significant injuries that will likely make them miss time.
Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban didn’t have many negative things to say about his team’s performance.
“You want me to be critical of my team because we had to punt once in the first quarter and they got a field goal?” Saban said. “I’m not going to be critical of anything our players did when we win 59-3.”
On Sunday morning, it was announced that Alabama would remain at No. 2 in the AP poll. Georgia is still on top after the beatdown in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Unless things go drastically wrong, Alabama and Georgia should go head-to-head in an SEC Championship that will be watched by the entire country.
No. 2 Alabama will host No. 21 Arkansas at 2:30 p.m. on CBS. It is the last game at Bryant-Denny Stadium this season.
