Chemistry within the Alabama football locker room seemed to be lacking last season; however, leaders on the team stepped up to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Junior linebacker Will Anderson says the team appears to be bought into what they’re trying to accomplish this season.

“Everyone’s been very receptive of the messages that we’ve been trying to get across to the team,” Anderson said. “There’s not a lot of knuckle heads…No negativity in the locker room.”

D.J. Dale, Jordan Battle, and Henry To’oto’o were some of the player Anderson listed as guys who stepped up to be a vocal leader on the team.

Alabama has new depth at wide receiver with Tyler Harrell (Louisville) and Jermaine Burton (Georgia.)

Sophomore wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks says bringing in transfers motivates him some, but the main  focus for him is helping the new guys reach their full potential.

“As a group we have a standard in the receiver room that the guys (that were) here before, the standard they set,” Brooks said. “So (when the) new guys came in, we try to build them up and raise them to the standard that was here before.”

Alabama is preparing for its first scrimmage inside Bryant Denny Stadium this coming Saturday.
