ALABAMA BASEBALL SET TO TAKE ON AUBURN ON THE PLAINS
Alabama baseball gets set for a three-game series against Auburn at Plainsman Park this weekend.
The two teams will meet for the 297th time in series history with the Crimson Tide holding the all-time advantage, 162-134, but have a losing record 59-55 when playing in Auburn.
Despite the losing record at Plainsman Park, Alabama is currently on a seven-game win streak against the Tigers. The win streak is tied with a seven-game win streak from May 6, 1955-April 21, 1958. Back in 2013, the Crimson Tide won two out of three games in a series to start the current streak.
Alabama’s right-handed duo senior Sam Finnerty will start on Friday night followed by Brock Love, a redshirt junior, for game two on Saturday. Sunday’s starter is still to be announced. Auburn will have a pair of left-handers, first with sophomore Jack Owen on Friday. The Tigers will send freshman Brooks Fuller to the hill on Saturday with Sunday’s starter to be announced.
The Crimson Tide are coming into the weekend with a 2-2 record throughout the week with a win over Jacksonville State 6-3, then ended the No. 14 LSU three-game series 1-2.
Today’s game is set for a 6 p.m. start followed by a 7 p.m. first pitch for game two on Saturday. Sunday’s series finale is slated for 3 p.m. Game one will air on SEC Network+ with the final two games of the weekend broadcasted nationally on SEC Network.
