The University of Alabama baseball team will open their 2020 season at Sewell-Thomas Stadium at 3 p.m. Friday with a series against the Northeastern Huskies. It will be a “best two out of three” series, with the other games taking place Saturday at Noon and Sunday at 1 p.m. if needed.

The Crimson Tide is excited to see their starting catcher Sam Praytor return to the field on opening day, who is making a comeback from the Tommy-John surgery he had last season. Also returning for the Crimson Tide this season are outfielder T.J. Reeves, outfielder Tyler Gentry, outfielder Walker McCleney, pitcher Chase Lee, pitcher Garret Rukes, infielder Kolby Robinson, and others.

“Northeastern is a good club,” said Alabama baseball coach Brad Bohannon. “I think they have five of their top six offensive players returning, and they have lots of experience. They’ll be really excited to play, and I know we will be as well.”
