ALABAMA ACADEMY OF HONOR INDUCTS SIX NEW MEMBERS

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – Alabama lead singer Randy Owen and Heisman trophy winner Bo Jackson are among the six new members of the Alabama Academy of Honor.

The induction ceremony was held Monday at the Alabama Capitol. The academy was created in 1965 and recognizes 100 living Alabamians for their accomplishments and service.

Other new members include former Birmingham Mayor Richard Arrington; business executive Raymond J. Harbert; retired Birmingham-Southern College president General Charles C. Krulak; and A+ Education Partnership President Caroline B. Novak.

Apple CEO Tim Cook and University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban were among last year’s inductees.
