A NEW CHIEF IN TOWN

For the city of Northport, there’s a new chief in town. Police chief that is.
He may have a new official title, but Gerald Burton has served as interim police chief in Northport for the last year.
He came to Northport P.D. back in 1998 from Valley Police Department where he started his law enforcement career in 1995.
In his 18 years with Northport, Burton has climbed the ladder from Sergeant, to Lieutenant, to assistant and Interim Chief, now to Northport Police Chief.
He says it’s been a goal of his to obtain this position and he couldn’t be happier to serve the people of this community.
