A BUSINESS WATCH PROGRAM IS SET TO BEGIN AFTER A NUMBER OF THEFTS IN TUSCALOOSA

Tuscaloosa Police will begin working with local businesses to set up a Business Watch Program.
“Several Months ago, several businesses in the City came to me and about some problems they were having with thefts whether it would be internal or external thefts.
Tuscaloosa Police Captain Wayne Robertson says Nationally, Millions of Dollars worth of items are being taken from businesses every Year.
“This is a very profitable business and we’re not so much concentrating on the prosecution of these people. We just help these businesses not to lose their merchandise so they can you know make money” says Robertson.
The Business Watch Program will model a Neighborhood Watch Program.
Captain Robertson says TPD has sent out more than 200 letters to local businesses about the program.
Robertson says they will provide businesses with training, updates, the latest trends on thefts, whether its internal or external.
An Informational Meeting and set will be August 14th from 6 P,M, until 7 P.M. at the Police Department.
This is for all local businesses to come out and take part.
