What used to be a vacant parking lot next to the Circle K gas station on Lurleen B. Wallace Boulevard just over the bridge from Tuscaloosa is now full of rubble and construction.

This project has been in the works for just over a year now, and city leaders said developers are seeing plenty of potential for new businesses in the area.

Northport City Councilman Jay Logan would not confirm what the business will be, but says he’s excited for everything the project will bring to his community.

“Anytime you have a new development it’s going to bring some needed jobs to the area,” he said. “It’s going to complement existing businesses. It’s going to be a great looking business.”

The project should be completed within the next nine months.
