80-YEAR-OLD MAN ALLEGEDLY KILLS DAUGHTER FOR NOT BUYING HIM ALCOHOL

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) – Birmingham police say an 80-year-old man shot and killed his daughter because she wouldn’t buy alcohol for him.

Authorities on Monday said Mathew Moore of Birmingham is charged with murder in the slaying of 37-year-old Chrystol Moore.

Officers responding to a call at a home Friday night found the woman dead from multiple gunshot wounds. They say the man was sitting at the kitchen table nearby.

Police say their investigation showed that the man and his daughter got into a verbal dispute because he wanted her to buy alcohol for him and she refused.

Moore was shot to death, and her father is now being held with bond set at $40,000.

Court records aren’t available to show whether Moore has a lawyer who could comment on his behalf.
