Who steals from a 7-year-old? Well, Tuscaloosa Police need your help finding the man who did just that after Zymerria Grice’s bicycle was stolen right off her mom’s porch.

But the police aren’t without evidence, because the theft was caught on camera.

“I miss my bike a lot,” Zymerria told WVUA 23 Reporter Chelsea Barton. That pink and black bite was a long-awaited Christmas gift, but now it’s gone just a few months later.

The theft happened early Tuesday morning on Ash Street.

“What would you say to him if you could say something to him?” WVUA 23 reporter Chelsea Barton asked Zymerria.

“Why did you do that?” she said. “Why did you steal my bike?”

Zymerria’s mother Almarasha Grice said the thief took her family’s sense of security. And in a sense, their faith in humanity.

“Last night, I didn’t even sleep, watching to see if he was gonna bring it back,” Grice said.

Grice said the fact that her daughter’s bike was stolen right off her porch was a tough pill to swallow, but explaining to her 7-year-old the evils of this world was absolutely heartbreaking.

Grice and her daughter have a message to this man.

“I’m hoping he brings my bike back,” Zymerria said.
