5 IN CUSTODY, 1 MORE BEING SOUGHT OVER NICHOLAS HAWKINS’ MURDER
The Walker County Sheriff’s Department says one more person is now in custody in relation to the murder of 19-year-old Nicholas Hawkins.
Today, Joshua Adam Reese was charged with murder, which makes him the fifth person arrested for Hawkins’ disappearance and killing. In addition to Reese, Danny Lee Jarvis and Cory Conner were also charged with murder. Tessa Wise and Colton Echoes were charged with hindering prosecution.
Authorities said they are still looking for one more person of interest.
Hawkins went missing earlier this month, and was found shot to death days later.
Walker County Sheriff James Underwood said Reese was the shooter, and that a weapon has been recovered. Everyone who’s been charged so far knew the victim personally, the sheriff said.
