On Tuesday morning, the University of Alabama announced that the 33rd annual Moundville Native American Festival has been canceled. The festival was set for Oct. 6 through Oct. 9 at Moundville Archaeological Park.

In a social media post, the park said the event was canceled because there was a lack of participation from school groups and some planned participants were having issues with pandemic travel restrictions.

Their campground and park remain open for anyone who wants to visit.
