3 SHOOTINGS, 1 STABBING IN TUSCALOOSA COUNTY OVER WEEKEND

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to two shootings and a stabbing over the weekend. Here’s a rundown:

A Tuscaloosa man is recovering after his girlfriend stabbed him in the eye Friday afternoon.

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said it happened at the Links apartment complex, after the victim and his girlfriend had an argument.

When police arrived, they said the 20-year-old victim had a large knife still embedded in his eye socket. His injury isn’t life-threatening, but police said he’ll probably lose sight in his right eye, and could lose hearing in his right ear.

The victim’s girlfriend, Taylor Alexandria Kirksey, 20, was arrested on charges of attempted murder, and was being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $60,000 bond.

A 20-year-old man is recovering after police say he was the victim of a drive-by shooting.

Police said it happened in the 3800 block of Third Avenue East in Tuscaloosa around 1:30 a.m. The victim said he was walking in the area when a black car pulled beside him, and someone from within it shot him in the stomach and right leg.

Police said the victim gave several locations for where the incident happened and said he couldn’t give a description of the suspect. The case is under investigation.

Police say the man responsible for shooting a 30-year-old man around 11:30 a.m. Saturday has turned himself in.

The victim said he was arguing with his girlfriend in the 100 block of 39th Street East when his girlfriend’s cousin, Lamar Ramsey, 20, shot into the vehicle the victim was sitting in.

Police said Ramsey fled the scene, but later turned himself in. He’s been charged with attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

A 24-year-old man is recovering after he was shot in his left shoulder in the 3000 block of 24th Street in Northport around 7 p.m. Sunday.

The victim said Eric Arthur Prewitt, 22, came to his home and confronted him about something the victim wrote on social media. Police said Prewitt left the scene and has not yet been found. He’s wanted on charges of attempted murder first-degree robbery.
