Tuscaloosa Police are investigating two separate shootings that happened between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 12:15 a.m. this morning. Here’s a rundown:

The first shooting happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday at Crescent East Apartments, off Crescent Ridge Road.

When police arrived, the victim had already been taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle, suffering from a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the stomach.

All the victim told police was that he was gambling at the apartment with people he would not name, when another man started “messing with the money,” then pulled a gun and started shooting. Police said they don’t know if robbery was the motive for the shooting, but they’re working on identifying others involved.

The second shooting happened around 12:15 a.m. at Copper Creek Apartments, near Bowers Park.

When police arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot to the leg. Witnesses said the victim had gotten into an argument with a woman, and then another man came up and shot the victim before assaulting him further. The victim was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center for his injuries, which don’t appear life-threatening.

Investigators said they’ve identified a potential suspect and are working on confirming his identity and securing a warrant for his arrest.
