2 MEN SHOT AT SIDELINE BAR AND GRILL EARLY FRIDAY MORNING
Two people are recovering from gunshot wounds and police are searching for more information after a shooting outside Sideline Bar and Grill early this morning.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit was called in around 2 a.m. to the bar at 5600 McFarland Boulevard East, and investigators were told by police that two victims had been shot and were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center.
The first victim told authorities he was leaving the bar, heard gunshots and realized he’d been shot. He said he was taken to DCH by friends. One of those friends told authorities that they’d been surrounded by a group of black men outside the bar before someone began shooting.
The second victim said he was shot inside the bar, but didn’t know who shot him and was unable to give any details about the shooting. Authorities said the victim was uncooperative.
Investigators at the scene recovered multiple 9 mm shell casings, two cellphones and a 9mm handgun, in addition to finding the business and a vehicle had been shot during the incident.
The cases are pending investigation.
