2 INFANTS SENT TO DHR, 3 SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN METH LAB BUST
COTTONDALE – Two 6-month-old babies are in the custody of Alabama’s Department of Human Resources after a meth lab bust in Tuscaloosa County.
Sgt. Alex Miles with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said agents with the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force discovered a methamphetamine lab on the 8700 block of Canyon Lake Road in Cottondale. While speaking with the residents who live there, agents noticed the smell of meth related chemicals on the residents.
In addition to the meth lab, agents discovered 116 grams of methamphetamine oil, less than one gram of crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and other components typically used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Agents removed two 6-month-old infants found in the residence and turned them over to the custody of DHR.
Task force agents arrested 47-year-old Jerry Wayne Grimball of Cottondale, 44-year-old Terry Lynn Jordan of Cottondale, and 22-year-old Sunny Leigh Anne Ward of Cottondale.
Grimball is charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st Degree, Chemical Endangerment of a Child (2 counts) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with bond set at $1,035,000.00.
Jordan is charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st Degree, Chemical Endangerment of a Child (2 counts) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with bond set at $331,000.00.
Ward is carged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st Degree and Chemical Endangerment of a Child (2 counts) with bond set at $330,000.00..
