A police chase late Saturday near the University of Alabama campus ended in a pair of arrests.

Tuscaloosa Police said the incident began when an officer attempted to stop a speeding pickup truck near 12th Avenue. Instead of stopping, the driver and passenger switched seats in the still-moving vehicle before eventually crashing into the fence of an apartment complex near Sixth Avenue.

Both were charged with driving under the influence, and the driver was charged with attempting to elude and possession of a controlled substance.
