2 CHARGED AFTER 4 FOUND DEAD IN HOUSE FIRE

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) – An Alabama couple is charged in the deaths of four people found dead after a house fire near Huntsville.

Investigators said Wednesday 40-year-old Christopher Matthew Henderson and 42-year-old Rhonda Jean Carlson are charged with capital murder and arson.

Authorities say Henderson and Carlson are married. Court records don’t show whether either has a lawyer.

Investigators say Henderson also was married to one of the victims, 35-year-old Kristen Henderson. Court documents say she was pregnant with Henderson’s unborn child and going through a divorce against the man.

Officials identify the other victims as Kristen Henderson’s 8-year-old son, Clayton Chambers; 1-year-old nephew, Eli Sokolowski; and 67-year-old Carol Jean Smallwood.

Investigators found the victims Wednesday in the rubble of a house that burned Tuesday.

Autopsies are being conducted to determine causes of death.
