2 arrested after police chase in Tuscaloosa Friday

Police Chase

Two men are facing charges after leading Tuscaloosa Police on a chase around parts of the city before they were caught near the Skyland and McFarland boulevards intersection around 7 p.m. Friday.

The chase began just before 7 p.m. when a TPD officer on patrol near Creekwood Village tried stopping a vehicle occupied by two men. The driver did not stop and lead officers on a chase that went down Mallisham Parkway, Interstate 20/59, Skyland Boulevard and nearby smaller roads.

TPD managed to deploy spike strips, which flattened the suspect vehicle’s tires, and both occupants ran away from the car in front of the PNC Bank parking lot at the Skyland and McFarland boulevards intersection.

One of those suspects was captured immediately, and the other was caught after a brief chase.

Investigators found marijuana packaged for sale in the car.

Kenneth Jones, 20, of New Port Richey, Florida, was charged with resisting arrest. Jones was the driver of the vehicle.

Tahj Deontay Fulcher, 22, of Tarpon Springs, Florida, was charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

The West Alabama Narcotics Task Force is investigating and additional charges are expected.
