17-YEAR-OLD CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER IN SISTER’S STABBING

A 17-year-old girl is facing attempted murder charges and her sister is recovering at DCH Regional Medical Center after a stabbing Thursday night.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department said it happened around 10:30 p.m. at Crescent East Apartments on East 49th Avenue.

When police arrived, they said they found a 24-year-old woman who’d been stabbed multiple times. Witnesses said the victim was in a fight with her sister, Ebony Pyles, 17. Witnesses said the fight began when the victim’s child did something to a drink belonging to Pyles, Pyles hit the child, and the victim and Pyles got into a fight. Witnesses said the victim went to her room. When she came out, Pyles began stabbing her.

Police said Pyles fled the scene when officers arrived, but a witness showed officers where she’d fled to and she was taken into custody.

Pyles is charged with attempted murder and was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
