16-YEAR-OLD CHARGED WITH MURDER IN BEAR CREEK ROAD SHOOTING

A man has been arrested for a murder on Bear Creek Road East over the weekend.

Police said that on Sunday around 3:40 a.m., they discovered the body of 29-year-old Mareek Marcella Boykins in the front yard of a home on Bear Creek Road East. They said it appeared the victim had been shot more than once.

Investigators said they believe the victim was in an argument and altercation with another person in the front yard he he was shot by Cameron Travis, 16.

Police said Travis and the victim live together. Travis was charged with murder as an adult..
