ALABAMA BUDGET BATTLE CONTINUES
The Alabama Legislature made it clear they won’t be honoring Gov. Robert Bentley’s veto on the state general fund budget.
This week, both the Senate and House of Representatives voted to override Bentley’s budget veto.
The veto came after Bentley disagreed with the legislature’s budget saying it did not provide enough money for medicaid. he then asked lawmakers for a $100,000,000 increase in appropriations for medicaid, which they’ve now rejected.
Wednesday, Governor Bentley backed off agreeing to have the Alabama Medicaid Agency cut costs and live within the proposed budget before he considers calling a special session.
