1 MAN IN CUSTODY, 1 IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER SHOOTING EARLY TUESDAY MORNING
One man is behind bars and another is in critical condition after a shooting early this morning at Monnish Park in Tuscaloosa, next to Central High School on 15th Street.
It happened around 12:30 a.m. after the suspect and victim, who are cousins, got into an argument over money.
Robert Mitchell Williams, 40, is accused of shooting the victim several times. The victim, identified as 36-year-old Rayshard Richey, was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
Police said Williams was found to have prior felony convictions for robbery and assault. He was charged with attempted murder, and placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
Those charges will be upgraded if the victim’s condition changes, police said.
