1 KILLED, 1 INJURED AFTER SHOOTING IN BESSEMER

BESSEMER – Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Bessemer that left one man killed and another seriously wounded.

Bessemer Deputy Police Chief Mike Roper says officers were called to an address on Westlake Drive around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday after reports of gunshots in the area.

Roper said officers found two men shot. He said one of them was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was taken to UAB Hospital with serious injuries.

Bessemer Police Chief Nathaniel Rutledge said both victims are men between 45 and 50 years old. Rutledge said the man who was killed was getting into his car when he was shot.

There were no immediate arrests in the case.
