1 DEAD, 2 INJURED IN THURSDAY MORNING CRASH

A two-vehicle crash Thursday claimed the life of a man from Boligee and injured two others.

Eddie Lawson, 64, of Boligee was killed when his vehicle was struck by a sedan driven by Clydarryl Lance Smith, 25, of Eutaw.

Lawson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Lawson’s passenger, Cedric Leon Williams, 29, of Boligee and Smith were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center.

The crash happened at 5:40 a.m. on Interstate 59 near the 60 mile-marker, about 13 miles south of Tuscaloosa.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
